Job Description
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The President is responsible for providing strategic leadership for University of Vermont Health Network’s (UVMHN) Elizabethtown Community Hospital (ECH) by working with the Board and other management to establish long-range goals, strategies, plans and policies. The President leads approximately 350 employees, serving a large rural geography through 6 Primary Care Centers, a 25 bed Critical Access Hospital and ER in Elizabethtown, and an ER and outpatient center on a medical village campus in Ticonderoga. These multiple owned facilities serve patients in rural Essex, and northern Washington and Warren Counties of NYS. The President will ensure a consistent presence, building the strong relationships necessary to serve as a both an organization and community leader. S/he will be accountable for an integrated high-performance leadership team that delivers in alignment with all quality, safety, growth, program development, employee/physician engagement, financial results and capital planning success metrics.
Additionally s/he will be a key member of the UVM Health Network’s system-wide strategic planning and goal development process. This includes shared responsibility with other members of the Network Leadership Council for the development and optimization of the health system strategic planning and execution to improve and consolidate processes, operations, cost, revenue, and help lead the organization’s shift from a fee-for-service model to emerging value-based care anchored to population health metrics.
EDUCATION:
Master’s Degree in Hospital Administration (MHA), Business Administration (MBA), Management or related field is preferred.
Bachelor’s degree with equivalent work experience of a Master’s degree as demonstrated by such responsibilities as, but not limited to, accountability for hospital operations, budget development, analysis, and oversight; marketing; FTE management; expense control; policy and procedure development; and process development to facilitate regulatory compliance.
EXPERIENCE:
8-10 years of Hospital/Acute Care/Ambulatory Facility management.
At least 5 years of senior leadership (VP or C-Level) management.
