Job Description
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Director, Workforce Development provides leadership for planning, developing, and implementing a system-wide approach to workforce planning and development. This includes analyzing workforce needs, local and national partnerships to develop pipelines and ensuring that diversity, equity and inclusion is foundational in everything we do. You will play a critical role to ensure that the Health Network has enough talent with the right skills at the right time to deliver high quality care and support local communities. This requires the ability to forecast needed skills, develop pipelines and internal pathways, remove barriers, scale job readiness programs and create solutions to recruit and retain talent. Through a close partnership with key stakeholders (e.g., leaders and subject matter experts, HRBPs, Talent Acquisition, L&D), you will anticipate and define the future talent needs for the UVM Health Network, assess skill and resource gaps, and establish well known and innovative strategies to meet present and future needs. While part of a large and complex organization, you don’t let bureaucracy slow you down and you aren’t afraid to have fun while making a big impact.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's Degree required. Master’s Degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
Leadership experience in workforce development and planning strongly preferred.
Demonstrated ability to develop sustainable programs to attract talent
5 years specific job-related experience required, including experience in developing, administering, and/or evaluating workforce initiatives programs
