Job Description

Full Time Position

The Respiratory Therapist plays an integral role within our ambulatory clinic, and works closely alongside our nursing team to care for our patients through telephone triage and clinic duties in a fun, friendly and professionally engaging environment. Direct contact with patients occurs through teachings, 6 minute walk tests, airway clearance techniques, and other visits. Telephone triage includes assessing patient’s health care needs based on signs and symptoms, obtaining appropriate input and direction from our stellar team of providers, and communicating with patients on the best clinical course of action.

 

Our Respiratory Therapists get experience in a wide range of conditions including: Asthma, Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD), Sarcoidosis, Lung transplant, Adult Cystic Fibrosis (CF), Lung Nodules, and Cancerous Lung Masses.

 

HOURS:

Clinic hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00-5:00 with opening and closing times extending beyond those hours as needed. No evenings, weekends or medical group holidays required.

 

Our Respiratory Therapists have the option to rotate working weeks of four 10-hour days, and have the option to work from home one day per week most weeks.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Provides advanced professional Respiratory Care to patients in varying states of health and illness through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient's health needs. The Ambulatory RT II provides direct care to patients and families, as well as teaching and preparation for continuing care. AARC Clinical Practice Guidelines guide the delivery of respiratory services by this individual. The position demonstrates dedication to professional growth and development and to the continuous improvement of patient care.

 

EDUCATION:

Associate's Degree required. Bachelor's Degree preferred. Graduate of accredited Respiratory Therapy Program Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in the State of Vermont, Registered Respiratory Therapist by the NBRC Current BLS preferred.

 

EXPERIENCE:

1 year experience in relevant clinical area and/or independent in all areas of the Ambulatory RT II accountabilities.
