Scope 1 & 2 Greenhouse Gas Emissions at University of Vermont Medical Center
At UVM Health Network we are committed to reducing the carbon footprint of health care delivery, and a big step towards that goal is to track and share Scope 1 & 2 GHG emissions. UVM Medical Center completed the first baseline for 2023 and the results are in.
Disclosure: This calculation was done using the “Health Care Emissions Impact Calculator”, made available by Health Care Without Harm, Global Green and Healthy Hospitals and Practice Greenhealth. Fire Suppression emissions were not included as data was not available. This information represents the UVM Medical Center location only except for the Anesthetic Gases which included usage from the Fanny Allen campus.
The numbers overlying the bar graph refer to metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalents (MTCO2e). This is the standard unit to indicate the volume and global warming potential of greenhouse gases released into the atmosphere.
