Interpreting and Translation Services
The University of Vermont Medical Center is dedicated to providing the best possible care to patients. Being able to communicate with your provider and members of our staff is of the utmost importance in patient safety and quality of care. The UVM Medical Center offers ASL interpreters for Deaf, hard of hearing and DeafBlind patients and their companions, as well as spoken language interpreters for patients with limited English proficiency. Please contact your case manager or social worker to arrange translation or interpretating services.
Video interpretation is also available in the following languages:

Arrangements can be made through Case Management and Social Work
by calling 802-847-5826 between 8:30am and 5pm Monday through Friday. After 5pm and on weekends and holidays, please call 802-847-0000 and request the on-call social worker for assistance.
Our Free Video Phone Service
We have a video phone available for Deaf patients, friends, family members and employees in the Frymoyer Community Health Resource Center at our Main Campus in Burlington, VT.
The video phone is free to use during Frymoyer’s regular hours, Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5pm. If there is a Security officer at the information desk next to Frymoyer, you can access the video phone after 5pm – for urgent calls only.
