Our Nurses Have a Say
In early 2017, the University of Vermont Medical Center launched Nursing Professional Governance (NPG), an innovative structure consisting of nurse-driven councils through which frontline staff partner with leadership to improve the care we provide to our patients and families. This model of shared governance has a dynamic framework that empowers nurses to influence decisions regarding their practice, placing inherent value on the wisdom and expertise of the nurse.
