About the Office of Patient and Family Advocacy

The Office of Patient and Family Advocacy serves as a liaison between patients and the hospital in their expressions of praise or concern so that the highest standards of care are upheld on behalf of our patients.

Our goal at the UVM Medical Center is to provide you with a high-quality health care experience. Sometimes we exceed expectations, and in those cases, Patient and Family Advocacy is happy to receive your compliments and pass them along to the appropriate staff person or department.

Sometimes we fall short of your expectations. When that happens, our office is here to work with you to resolve any problems. We want to hear from you, whether you have a compliment or a concern.

About Our Patient Advocates

Patient advocates look into and help resolve patient and family complaints. If you are not satisfied with your care or if there are communication issues, a Patient Advocate can help you. We can also answer your questions about confidentiality and assist you in getting information about your care. The UVM Medical Center's Patient Advocates are experienced nurses who are here to help you navigate the health care environment.
