Overview

The Aesculapius Laboratory is a satellite laboratory of the UVM Medical Center, Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. This laboratory provides on-site services including Point of Care Testing and phlebotomy, for providers at Aesculapius Medical Center.

We see about 70 patients a day and about half of those patients have in-house tests. In addition, these patients often have tests ordered which are sent to the main UVM Medical Center Laboratory. In-house tests include: Urinalysis/Microscopic, Pregnancy Test, Rapid Strep Test, Fingerstick Hemoglobin and Glucose, KOH and Wet Preps and Hemoccult Blood.

We are licensed as a moderate-level testing laboratory by CLIA #47D0091239 and our laboratory uses the same testing procedures as the UVM Medical Center Laboratory.

Fanny Allen Campus Laboratory

Overview
Fanny Allen Campus Laboratory is a satellite laboratory of UVM Medical Center's Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. The laboratory at the Fanny Allen campus provides services to the Walk-In Care Center, Fanny Allen Operating Room, and to Rehabilitation inpatient and outpatient services. Samples are received from area physician offices.

Testing

The following tests are performed at UVM Medical Center's Fanny Allen Campus in Colchester. All of the testing is offered on a STAT basis.

  • Urinalysis
  • Urine Pregnancy Test
  • Wet Prep
  • Occult Blood
  • Hemagram (CBC) includes WBC, RBC, Hgb, HCT, MCV, MCH,
  • MCHC, PLT
  • Differential
  • Sed Rate
  • Protime
  • APTT
  • Monospot

Chemistry tests include: Albumin, Alkaline Phos, ALT (SGPT), Amylase, AST (SGOT), Bilirubin (conjugated, unconjugated, and total), BUN, Calcium, Cholesterol, CK, Creatinine, Electrolytes (Sodium, Potassium, Chloride, CO2), Glucose, GGT, Iron, LDH, Lipase, Magnesium, Phos, Total Protein, Triglyceride, and Uric Acid.
