A New Care Environment

On June 1, 2019, the UVM Medical Center's Miller Building opened its doors to patients and families. The new structure offers four floors of single-occupancy rooms and a multitude of patient- and family-centered features all designed with a dual purpose: to help patients and families heal while moving the field of health care forward.

Donor Support Made the Difference - Thank you

The lead gift to this transformative facility project was made by two long-time Vermont philanthropists, Bob and Holly Miller, whose generosity inspired the naming of the building in their honor. Read why the Millers believe in giving back.

In all, more than 1,400 community members, including more than 500 employees, made gifts at every level to help make the Miller Building a reality. Over 120 gifts were made in honor or memory of a loved one and more than 60 gifts were made in honor of a caregiver.

Every Room Has a Story

There's a meaningful story behind every gift. In the new Miller Building, grateful patients, community members, local business and UVM Medical Center clinicians, volunteers and friends named rooms with their gifts—creating legacies, honoring caregivers, investing in tomorrow's patients and families and for some, furthering their own healing.

In the following videos, hear a few of these inspiring stories.
