Why Vermont

I first fell in love with Vermont while attending Middlebury College, with its beautiful mountains and endless outdoor activities. When I started the interview process, I soon realized that the program here was the perfect fit for many other reasons: the faculty are engaged, and many were residents here themselves; the educational opportunities (including overnight independent call) are endless given that this is a tertiary care hospital and Level 1 trauma center; and most of all the residents are a close group of friends, constantly helping each other out and supporting one another, in addition to having fun at and outside of work.

I came to Vermont primarily for the job, but have come to appreciate the environment even more. It's a clean, peaceful relief from the rat race of the big city where I know I can always find a place to relax and forget about life's travails. The people tend to be fairly laid-back and non-judgmental. And...it's beautiful!

I wanted to come to UVM for the people! The residents I met on my interview were all so friendly and easygoing. It was my favorite interview day by far! I was also excited about living in Burlington. With the city being so close to the lake and to the mountains, there are tons of outdoor activities to do year round!

Love the medical care I get here for myself and my family, love the mix of practice (academic and clinical), love interacting with the community, a great place to live.

UVM radiology is an excellent residency program with faculty who are greatly invested in resident education. The residents here are smart, hardworking, and truly enjoy working with each other. The Burlington area is great for those interested in outdoor recreation, which affords a great work-life balance.

Vermont is a beautiful place to live, it has easy access to great outdoor activities in both summer and winter and I wanted a job where I could teach residents.
