Curriculum

Block Time

Year 1: The first year of fellowship is devoted primarily to outpatient clinical time in the MFM clinic and the Fetal Diagnostic Center, with rotations in genetics, endocrinology, infectious disease, and the medical intensive care unit.

Year 2: The second year of fellowship allows significant protected time to complete the thesis requirements. Fellows work primarily in the laboratory of their research mentor. During the second half of the year, fellows work with the pediatric cardiologists to learn fetal echocardiography.

Year 3: The third year of fellowship involves inpatient management of the Obstetrics service, consultations, and transports in addition to outpatient consultations. Final thesis data analysis and manuscript preparation is expected. There is also flexibility built into this year, allowing individualized goals to be met.

Education sessions: Weekly protected didactic educational sessions occur on Wednesday mornings.
