Visitor Restrictions

Across the UVM Health Network, we are restricting visitation in our facilities so that we can focus on protecting our patients and our workforce amid the rapidly changing scenario around COVID-19. Below, you can find current visitation detail for each of our health care affiliates.

The University of Vermont Medical Center

Beginning June 24, the University of Vermont Medical Center welcomes inpatient visitors back to the hospital. The hospital’s updated visitation policy is based on the Vermont Department of Health guidelines and includes screening of visitors, mask requirements and allowance for one family member or support person per patient admitted to the hospital or visiting for a procedure. Central Vermont Medical Center

Beginning July 1, CVMC welcomes inpatient visitors back to the hospital. The hospital’s updated visitation policy is based on Vermont Department of Health guidelines and includes screening of visitors, mask requirements and facility visiting hours 10 am – 6 pm, seven days a week. Typically, only one visitor per patient is permitted in the facility with exceptions. Please read more about our updated hospital visitation policy.


Porter Medical Center

Beginning July 6, Porter Medical Center welcomes inpatient visitors back to the hospital. The hospital’s updated visitation policy is based on Vermont Department of Health guidelines and includes screening of visitors, mask requirements and facility visiting hours that are limited to 11 am – 7 pm, seven days a week. Alice Hyde Medical Center

Beginning June 22, Alice Hyde welcomes inpatient visitors back to the hospital. The hospital’s updated visitation policy is based on New York State Department of Health guidelines and includes screening of visitors, mask requirements and facility visiting hours that are limited to 4 hours per day, noon – 2 pm and 5 – 7pm, seven days a week. Only one visitor per patient is permitted in the facility. Please read more about our updated hospital visitation policy.


Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital

Beginning June 22, Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital welcomes inpatient visitors back to the hospital. The hospital’s updated visitation policy is based on New York State Department of Health guidelines and includes screening of visitors, mask requirements and facility visiting hours that are limited to 4 hours a day, 11 am – 1 pm and 4 – 6 pm, seven days a week. Elizabethtown Community Hospital

Beginning June 19, Elizabethtown Community Hospital welcomes inpatient visitors back to the hospital. The hospital’s updated visitation policy is based on New York State Department of Health guidelines and includes screening of visitors, mask requirements and facility visiting hours that are limited to 4 hours a day, 11 am – 1 pm and 3 – 5 pm, seven days a week. McClure Miller Respite HOUSE 

Due to the evolving nature of COVID-19 precautions, and with the utmost concern for the continued safety of our residents, families and staff, McClure Miller Respite House visitor restrictions are expanding to permit six (6) guests per resident, effective July 1.
